Terms of service

Effective 1 October 2026 · Draft for legal review

1. The service

Northscreen hosts branded television channels for organizations on Roku and the web. “Organization” means the customer that creates a channel; “viewer” means someone who watches it.

2. Accounts

Operators must give accurate information, keep passwords confidential, and are responsible for activity in their workspace. Organization admins control who has access to their channel.

3. Plans, billing, and renewal

4. Promotions

Promo codes grant the free time stated when redeemed, stack after any paid time, may be limited in number or by date, have no cash value, and can't be transferred. “Free forever” codes apply to the plan held at redemption; plan changes on complimentary workspaces need our approval.

5. Viewer passes

Organizations may sell access to their channel. The sale is between the organization and the viewer; the organization sets prices and is responsible for its refund decisions. Payments made on the web are processed by Stripe; Northscreen may retain a platform fee. Passes bought through Roku Pay are billed by Roku, and are managed and canceled in the viewer's Roku account under Roku's terms. Each pass is personal and limited to the device count the organization sets.

6. Content and conduct

Organizations must own or be licensed to use everything they publish and are responsible for it. Prohibited: unlawful, infringing, pornographic, or hateful content; deceptive store listings; attempts to bypass access controls; and misuse of viewer data. Channels designated “made for kids” must comply with COPPA and Roku's Kids & Family requirements. We may remove content or suspend channels that break these terms.

7. Copyright complaints

Send notices of claimed infringement to support@northscreen.tv with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). We respond to valid notices and terminate repeat infringers.

8. Roku Store listings

Dedicated listings (Storefront plan) are prepared by the organization and submitted by Northscreen through the Roku Developer Dashboard. Roku decides certification; publication isn't guaranteed, and Roku may remove listings under its own policies.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change features or these terms with 30 days' notice for material changes; continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages.

11. Ending the service

You can cancel anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts for non-payment or serious breaches. On request within 30 days of termination, we'll provide an export of your channel metadata.
